The building's concept is based on respectful integration with the surrounding landscape. Placed along the slope of the hill, the structure mirrors the contour of the terrain, blending with the horizon line.
The building's architecture follows energy-efficient and sustainable construction principles. The soil excavated during construction is not removed but instead kept on-site, utilized for landscaping around the building and green roofs. The walls are thick and clad with local stone, providing enhanced thermal inertia and reducing energy consumption.
The project's spatial structure follows the process of grape movement in gravity winemaking with a different floor for every stage of wine production.
Grape reception occurs on a sunken platform at level 1, sheltered from the northeast wind and sun. After the grape reception and pressing, the grapes move to the two-story vinification workshop. The upper level houses the laboratory, enologist's office, and winery staff rooms, with access to the top of the fermentation tanks. The fermented juice then flows down to the lowest level, where barrel and bottle aging rooms, bottling lines, and warehouses are located. This deep arrangement of storage and aging spaces ensures a constant temperature with minimal energy consumption.
